    • Given Name: Henry

    • Surname: Ballard

    • Sex: M

    • Note:

Henry Ballard was born before 1609 given the age of his son Thomas and assuming he was at least 21 when he wed.

In 1636, Christopher Calthorppe was granted land for transporting 10 persons, one of whom was Henry Bullard.

Henry Ballard is thought to be the father of Col. Thomas Ballard of York Co. Virginia as Henry's grant of land in Warwick County bordered on York County and his neighbors can be found in records with Thomas. Only a few fragments of Warwick Co. Virginia records are available. See John Weisner's analysis in "The Ballards of Colonial Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina".

Anne is thought to have been Henry's wife and remarried to William Thomas after his death. In his will, William Thomas of York Co. VA, mentioned his wife Anne, son-in-law Thomas Ballard, daughter in law Sarah Herman and daughter in law Jane Hilliard, wife of John Hilliard. These would be Anne's children and step-children to William Thomas.

Henry is still living in 1650 when he is sued by a neighbor but is deceased by 1659 when William Thomas gives a heifer to his daughter-in-law, Jane Hillier.
